The best move at this point is to book at the Embassy Suites Hilton that shares the parking lot with the Convention Center hotel. You may be happy with that accomodation and keep the reservation, or you may try to book with the show hotel again later in the summer. We typically see a registration drop-off in early August due to the 30-day minimum cancellation window with our block bookings.
We do not currently have a VCFMW room block set up at the Embassy Suites, but we are working on it. When that goes live, the link above will change.
Here is the link for the original Convention Center hotel block, should you want to try and catch a stray open room.
The majority of our block covers Friday and Saturday nights. Thursday and Sunday nights may sell out sooner. If you wish to book those nights and the website will not allow it, please book what the site will allow and then contact Group Housing at the number below to adjust your reservation.
The hotel will require a one-night deposit to secure your booking. This deposit is refundable up until 30 days before our event. This arrangement was made to protect VCF Midwest from the steep booking drop-off we experienced the day before the 2024 show began, leaving no time for guests at other hotels to move their reservations.
We have been advised that the front desk/main booking line (847 303-4100) is aware of our event this year, under the name “Vintage Computer Festival”. However if you have any trouble booking, want to add extra days before or after, alter your room type, or have any other rooming questions, please contact “Group Housing” at 847 303-8167 (M-F 8-4). Unfortunately, VCFMW staff cannot address your hotel rooming concerns.
